Bart Scott is not a fan of Bill Belichick, and he’s not afraid to say it. In a recent interview with Barstool Sports’ “Pardon My Take,” Scott revealed that his dislike of Belichick goes beyond playing against him in an on-field rivalry. He believes that the “Patriot way” was more about Tom Brady than Belichick, and he’s not afraid to express his feelings.
Scott has made it clear that he has no love for Belichick. He once said that if Belichick were on fire, he wouldn’t even bother to put it out. When asked if he would help Belichick if he apologized and begged for help, Scott replied, “I’d rather let him burn.”
Scott’s disdain for Belichick stems from a personal encounter in 2015 when he was working on the CBS Sports crew for a Patriots playoff game. Belichick snubbed him, refusing to acknowledge his presence, which left Scott feeling disrespected and angry.
This isn’t the first time Scott has expressed his dislike for Belichick. In 2019, he recounted the 2015 incident on Adam Lefkoe’s podcast, describing how Belichick ignored him while greeting other members of the CBS Sports crew. Scott felt that Belichick’s behavior was rude and disrespectful, and he didn’t hesitate to call him out on it.
Scott’s famous “can’t wait” exclamation came after his Jets team knocked the Patriots out of the playoffs in 2011. Belichick apparently still took the rivalry personally years later, which only added fuel to Scott’s dislike for the Patriots coach.
In a recent interview, Scott compared Belichick to a “Sith Lord,” suggesting that fans will start to hate him as they realize the true nature of the “Patriot way.” He believes that the success of the Patriots dynasty was more about Tom Brady than Belichick, and he’s not afraid to speak his mind about it.
Scott’s feud with Belichick is no secret, and he’s not afraid to let everyone know how he feels. He’s made it clear that he has no love for the Patriots coach, and he’s not afraid to express his feelings. Whether it’s on the field or off, Scott has no problem calling out Belichick for his behavior, and he’s not afraid to stand up for himself.
