Author of ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Hopes to End Manga in 2023
Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Confirms End of Series in 2023
In the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, Jujutsu Kaisen creator Akutami Gege confirmed his intension to finish the series in 2023. This isn’t the first time Gege has expressed himself in such terms. During a series panel at Jump Festa 2023 late last year, he stated, “Thank you for your continued support of Jujutsu Kaisen. It comes as a surprise to me that so many people enjoy my work, even when the reality seems to suffocate us slowly but inexorably.” With 21 volumes published to date and over 200 chapters, the manga series has become one of the revelations of recent years on its own merits and will now be saying goodbye.
The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will be airing in July 2023 from the hand of MAPPA, and its first trailer has already been released. Whether or not this is the year of goodbye, it’s certain that this year will be very important for Jujutsu Kaisen, as the anime’s season 2 will be adapting the arc of the Shibuya Incident. Fans of the series can look forward to enjoying the manga’s conclusion in 2023.
