Author of ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Aims to Conclude Manga by 2023

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Manga and Anime Story to come to an End this Year

In the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, Jujutsu Kaisen author Akutami Gege has officially confirmed that he plans to have the story closed this year. During the series panel at Jump Festa 2023 late last year, he dropped a cryptic yet depressing message expressing his surprise of all the attention his work has gained and saying “I will keep drawing things that don’t make sense and Gege (yes, he refers to himself in the third person) would be very happy without you continuing with him and enjoy his work for another year.”

Jujutsu Kaisen has been an incredible success having published 21 volumes to date and more than 200 chapters, making it the seventh most read Manga Plus. It has been widely accepted as one of the best arcs of all time, earning the right to have its own ending story. As summer arrives, the anime will premier its second season of adapting the arc of the Shibuya incident, to be available on Crunchyroll, that released its trailer recently.

This 2023 will be an important year for Jujutsu Kaisen as it officially comes to an end and fans must say goodbye to one of the biggest revelations of recent years.
