WWE is getting ready for WrestleMania 39, which is set to take place on April 1 and 2 in Hollywood, and as a part of their celebrations, the company is paying tribute to some iconic scenes from movies and TV shows. As seen in a recent Stranger Things inspired promo, wrestling stars John Cena and Rhea Ripley feature in the clip, with the latter imitating Eleven in a scene where she experiments with her special powers. While Cena doesn’t appear in the scene, he can be heard. But that’s not all, recent Raw and SmackDown shows have also featured entertaining segments, with Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins imitating Batman and Joker, and The Miz and Maryse paying homage to Top Gun. Bianca Belair and Montez Ford also recreated Titanic’s iconic bow scene.
However, the stars will have their time to shine at WrestleMania 39, where Rhea Ripley will compete for the SmackDown women’s championship and John Cena will make his long-awaited return to the ring, competing for the United States title against Austin Theory. These matches will be a part of a two-night celebration, with other matches, including the main event, where Roman Reigns will face off against Cody Rhodes for the unified world championship.
In other news, it has been announced that Stranger Things season 5 will mark the end of the Netflix series, though no premiere date has been given. In case you’re feeling curious, you can check out the salaries that the cast will receive for this final season. So, wrestling fans, don’t forget to catch WrestleMania 39, streaming live on Peacock on April 1 and 2.
