Alcaraz made a triumphant start to the year by winning the Buenos Aires tournament after defeating British Cameron Norrie 6-3, 7-5 in the final. The 19-year-old from Murcia described the week as “great” and expressed his desire to compete with Djokovic and Tsitsipas for the number one spot in world tennis. He also acknowledged that there are many other players who can challenge for a Grand Slam and the top ranking.

Alcaraz became the youngest champion of the Argentina Open and when asked about it, he said he tries to work on his mental game every day and disconnects by spending time with his family and friends. He doesn’t want to put too much pressure on himself and goes to the court to enjoy and improve.
