Actor Pedro Pascal Almost Sanctioned by HBO for Ignoring Orders in ‘The Last Of Us’
Pedro Pascal Ignores Producers’ Instructions To Keep Different Interpretation Of His Character In “The Last Of Us”
Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal are the stars of the upcoming HBO series adaptation of the video game, The Last of Us. While Ramsey accepted the instructions from production, Pascal ignored them to make a difference between his character and the original game. In an interview with Wired, Pascal said the producers and HBO told him not to play the game so he could reflect a different interpretation. However, he decided to ignore them and get an idea of the game and it’s main characters.
The Last of Us is a post-apocalyptic horror game that, at its peak, had millions of streamers playing it. It focuses on the relationship between Joel and Ellie, traveling across post-apocalyptic America. Pascal portrays Joel and Ramsey portrays Ellie in the series, with both struggling to portray mannerisms, characters, and dynamics.
Nevertheless, Pascal conveys hints from the original game as he accepts that Troy Baker, who voiced the character of Joel, did a great job. But, the actor has taken it upon himself to create his own character, rather than a carbon copy of what was done with the video game.
HBO has confirmed that the first episode of The Last of Us will air on the 15th of January, 2023. The fans hope it will remain faithful to the game, as the two actors have already disclosed an incredible performance in the preview of the series.
