Actor Julian Sands Reported Missing: Search Launched by The World
**Search for Missing British Actor Halted Amid Dangers of Bad Weather**
The search for missing British actor Julian Sands, 65, who had gone hiking in the snowy mountain range of Mount Baldy in California, has been suspended due to bad weather. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said that trail conditions and the risk of avalanches had forced ground operations to halt last weekend, but helicopters and drones have been deployed for the search.
Officials also urged people to stay away from the area, given the dangerous conditions, even for experienced hikers. California is just coming out of a three-week span of chaotic weather, with torrential rainfall and heavy snow across the state.
Sands is most widely known for playing the love interest of Helena Bonham Carter in the 1985 romance film “A Room with a View” and has made countless other appearances in popular film and television dramas, such as “Arachnophobia” (1990) and “Leaving Las Vegas” (1995). He also starred in the 1998 opera adaptation of The Phantoma as the title character.
