
(News Spanish) — An earthquake of magnitude 6.6 shook the border between Colombia and Panama on Wednesday night, according to reports from the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The seismic focus was located at a depth of 10 kilometers. Near the epicenter is located, 63.3 kilometers to the southeast, the town of Necoclí, Antioquia, and 94.2 kilometers to the south, Unguía, in the department of Chocó, Colombia.
He Colombian Geological Service also reported the earthquake preliminary magnitude 6.6 and several aftershocks in the area.
For its part, the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management reported on Twitter that there is no threat of Tsunami for the Caribbean Coast after the earthquake.
