At least one suspect sought in premeditated attack in Louisiana’s Rouge

At least one suspect is being sought in connection with a premeditated attack that occurred in Rouge, Louisiana, early on the morning of January 23rd. The Baton Rouge Police Department’s Homicide Division lieutenant commanding the investigation, Bryan Ballard, told a news conference that the attack was not by chance.

The altercation and subsequent shooting took place at the Dior Bar & Lounge at around 1:30 AM local time. It is reported that participants were seen carrying weapons when police arrived on the scene; the timely arrival of three agents has ensured that fatality toll would not be higher.

Twelve people were injured with three of the injuries being serious. The investigation is still underway to ascertain exactly what motivated the attack and the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control is reviewing the security protocols of the club.
