Every week we feature adoptable pets from across Alaska. To the best of our knowledge, each pet is still available, and we encourage you to follow the links to find out more about these animals and the shelters that are caring for them.

“At just two years old, Honey has known some less than optimal treatment at the hands of human beings. But her wonderful foster family has given her the attention she deserves and the socialization that she desperately needed, so she’s ready to give people a second chance.”

“Eiko has been in the hands of the wrong people in her prior life. Thankfully we have been able to find her an amazing foster dad who has rehabilitated her into the perfect well behaved girl. She does wonderful off leash at the dog park with all dogs. She’s grown to love and trust people again and loves kids. She is however a little over excited when playing with kids so we are asking for a home with older kids. She is almost 2 years old.”

“Phantom was born approximately July 12, 2015. She came from Craig with her sister, Carmel . After a rough start in life, she was initially bottle-fed and then sent over to Ketchikan to a foster home with SOFA. These two sisters were then transported to Juneau to a foster home who ended up adopting them. However sadly, after 9 months the foster family’s life circumstances changed and they were no longer able to care for the girls. As is SOFA’s policy, Phantom and Carmel came back into our care. They are looking for a quiet, loving home who will give them lots of love and patience to help them adjust. Phantom is the more timid of the two girls , however she has a bunch of purrs to give! Both girls would do best with a stable routine and a family to call their own.”

“Cedar is a very sweet little boy who came to us from a mushing/dog yard lifestyle but is not quite built to be a full time sled dog. He loves his walks and enjoys staying close to us during his free play time in the dog yard. We believe he may do well off-lead after he has connected with his new owner and adapted to voice command.”

“Albert came back to us recently due to his caretaker passing away. He was truly loved by his previous person and would really love another lap to cuddle up on for his retirement years.”
