Every week we feature adoptable pets from across Alaska. To the best of our knowledge, each pet is still available, and we encourage you to follow the links to find out more about these animals and the shelters that are caring for them.

Alaska Dog & Puppy Rescue (Wasilla)

Buddy
Buddy

Retired adventurer seeks warm bed! After nine years of what we’re sure have been grand adventures, Buddy is ready to settle down and live the domesticated life. Don’t let his age fool you though- he’s still got lots of energy! His favorite thing in the world is playing fetch with someone who won’t get worn out. He would make an excellent hiking companion once he learns some leash manners. His only issue is that he doesn’t like young kids (under 13), and can be resource aggressive with other dogs.

Clear Creek Cat Rescue (Talkeetna)

Aslan
Aslan

Aslan is a sweetheart boy who would love a family that would love and cherish him. He enjoys cuddles and snuggles and kisses. And he likes to play with his family. He is a happier boy if his home is less chaotic. He is fine with nice kids but he would rather not be challenged by other cats and dogs.

Kitty and K-9 Connection (Anchorage)

Sammy

This handsome but somewhat chunky, eight year old, red heeler mix is Sammy. He is a happy and very social guy who loves to be with his people. Sammy would enjoy a family who will take him on walks or hikes, he would welcome an exercise plan . He does well with other dogs but no small children please.

Southeast Alaska Organization for Animals (Ward Cove)

Pepper

Pepper is 3-4 years old. She comes from a multi-cat household, and would probably fit into a furrever home with one or two other kitties. She is less fond of dogs, but wouldn’t mind a home with a respectful, quiet dog or two. Pepper has been a momma too many times in her short life, and is ready to be the center of attention for a change. Pepper has been an indoor/outdoor cat, and might do well in a remote location where occasional outdoor adventures won’t get her into trouble — or, if she goes somewhere in a town, she would love an outdoor cat enclosure for a safe taste of the open air. She is a strictly indoor kitty at her foster home, and has adapted well to the lifestyle.
