Every week we feature adoptable pets from across Alaska. To the best of our knowledge, each pet is still available, and we encourage you to follow the links to find out more about these animals and the shelters that are caring for them.

Alaska Bird Club (Anchorage)

Two pineapple green cheek conures

These two beautiful little birds need a new home. I got them at a garage sale from a man who said he’d rather see them dead than in a good home. I’ve had them both on my finger and one lets me pet her. They are both very human curious and would be easy to hand tame if someone had the time. These two are sweeties and love each other. They must go together.

Bernard St.Germaine

May we introduce to you Bernard St. Germaine, or Bernie, to all the lovely ladies. Bernie is new to us so we are learning about him. Bernie loves playing in the snow, digging in it and throwing it up in the air with his snout. If you’re looking for a great guy who you can tell all your secrets too, with a sweet sensitive side look no further.

Homeward Bound Pet Rescue and Referral (Fairbanks)

Kohler
Kohler

Kohler is a 15 year old Chihuahua/Pom cross boy. He is timid initially but does warm up well. He seems to adore children, as long as they let him come to them. While I would not advise he be placed in a home with resident small children, certainly properly behaved older children would have a lot of fun with him.

Kool Kat Rescue (Chugiak)

Cyrano
Cyrano

Cyrano is a sweet kitty on his own terms, sometimes a bit standoffish. He likes to curl up next to his person in bed at night. He loved his kitty buddy Gabriel when they were roommates. Gabriel was deaf and I think Cyrano liked having someone that needed him. If you have a cat that needs another kitty to help take care of them, Cyrano would be your man. Beware, he does like to play footsie under the covers even when not moving feet or hands on purpose. Will sometimes nip when playing, so no younger children please.

Straw for Dogs (Anchorage)

Miles

Miles is a very handsome tabby boy who after being outdoors for over a year has transitioned to life indoors happily and smoothly. A little shy initially, Miles is quickly blossoming in foster care. He gives tons of head bumps, crawls up on laps and has a lovely, steady motor. Miles continues to blossom and is doing fantastic with other cats and mellow dogs. Miles is looking for his home where he can snuggle up with the ones he loves and is filled with a sense of calmness and peace!
