The only person confirmed, but wont be part of the group is Channing Tatum, but his role will be substantial. Along with casting, a synopsis of the story was also unveiled.

“In The Hateful Eight, set six or eight or twelve years after the Civil War, a stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. The passengers, bounty hunter John Ruth (Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Leigh), race towards the town of Red Rock where Ruth, known in these parts as “The Hangman,” will bring Domergue to justice. Along the road, they encounter two strangers: Major Marquis Warren (Jackson), a black former union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter, and Chris Mannix (Goggins), a southern renegade who claims to be the town’s new Sheriff.

Losing their lead on the blizzard, Ruth, Domergue, Warren and Mannix seek refuge at Minnie’s Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnie’s, they are greeted not by the proprietor but by four unfamiliar faces. Bob (Bichir), who’s taking care of Minnie’s while she’s visiting her mother, is holed up with Oswaldo Mobray (Roth), the hangman of Red Rock, cow-puncher Joe Gage (Madsen), and Confederate General Sanford Smithers (Dern). As the storm overtakes the mountainside stopover, our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all…”

Filming begins sometime this month.

Terminator: Genisys Story Details Revealed and it Looks Crazy
Source: Screenrant.com

This is going to get a little confusing.

So, Paramount Pictures is releasing a new take on the Terminator franchise with the subtitle, Genisys. Starring Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Matt Smith, J. K. Simmons, and a returning Arnold Schwarzenegger, much of the story surrounding was a mystery including how Schwarzenegger is worked into this new story.

In Entertainment Weekly this week, we now know.

Genisys begins in the year 2029, as the war between humanity (led by the adult John Connor) and the A.I. force Skynet rages on, while Reese is selected to go back in time and protect Sarah Connor when she’s a young woman under attack. However, when Reese gets there, he’s shocked to encounter the Emilia Clarke version of Sarah who has also been raised by Swarzenegger’s Terminator since she was nine. This version of Sarah is more versed in combat and less in human emotions.

So, it’s Back to the Future rules? I mean, sure, why not. It’s not like the franchises haven’t taken it’s punches. Terminator: Salvation and Terminator: Rise of the Machines were huge steps backwards, and this story doesn’t seem like the way you “fix” Terminator. I do find it funny that Dr. Who star Matt Smith is involved in a story that deals with wibbly wobbly timey wimey situation.

Gambit Film Going Forward
Source: Deadline.com

20th Century Fox has officially announced plans for X-Men member Gambit is getting his own film starring Channing Tatum as the title character.

Fox has hired Robocop scribe, Josh Zetumer, to write the screenplay based on a treatment penned by X-Men series writer Chris Claremont. Claremont clame to fame is writing X-Men from the late 70’s to the late 80’s including the stories God Loves, Man Kills and Days of Futures Past.

No date or story bits were talked about so it’s suspicious if this will happen. Of the entire cast of X-Men, Gambit wouldn’t have been my first choice to helm a solo film and will the list of superhero films dominating the slate over the next couple of years, I’m wondering if people would care about a Gambit film. Having Tatum attached does give it some stare power, but what story do you do with Gambit? Maybe he’ll be a Horsemen in X:Men Apocalypse?

New Neill Blomkamp film starring Sharlto Copley, Hugh Jackman, Dev Patel, Sigourney Weaver and Die Antwoord. Looks like Short Circuit spiritual successor from the eyes of Blomkamp and I dig it.

Furious 7

Those are some fast cars.

So the Minions have been apart of all the evil through history?

Ex Machina

Cool horror-esque sci-fi from the writer of 28 Days Later.

Grumpy Cat

This looks so terrible, but something about Aubrey Plaza voicing a cat makes we smile.

A Series of Unfortunate Events tells the tale of orphaned children Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire at the hands of the villainous Count Olaf, as they face trials and tribulations, misfortunes and an evil uncle in search of their fortune, all in their quest to uncover the secret of their parents’ death. It is unknown if any of the actors from the original film will reprise there roles, but it’s doubtful.

SyFy and Ridley Scott working on 3001: The Final Odyssey

Source: Variety.com

SyFy is in a middle of an identity crisis.

Since the channel’s re-branding, SyFy (formally Sci-Fi) moved away from strictly science fiction and began to air reality shows, reruns of Law and Order and WWE Smackdown, the later from what WWE  tells me has been the highest rated program on it’s network since its inception.

The thing though is while they tried to get away from there roots, other stations have embraced programming that once was a perfect fit for the station and SyFy wants that audience back.

Syfy has announced that there plan to recapture that audiences is with a miniseries adaptation of Arthur C Clark’s 3001: The Final Odyssey, the final book in the 2001 franchise. Blade Runner and Prometheus director Ridley Scott will help produce.

I’m all for Syfy trying something new, I’m not sure this is it.

Scarecrow coming to Gotham

Source: Bleedingcool.com

At Stan Lee’s Comikaze convention, news broke about another Batman rogue joining the cast of Gotham.

During a Panel, Gotham executive producering Danny Cannon told the crowed that they are working to bring The Scarecrow to the show.

We’re breaking the story now,” Cannon says. On “Gotham,” the villain will be seen as a child, before he takes on the Scarecrow moniker. In fact, it’s something that will be passed on to him from his father, which will create an eventual enemy for Batman while still having a possible adversary for Jim Gordon.

The things I love about Gotham is it’s story about Oswald and the GCPD and all that is easily the most captivating parts of the show. Where the show falters is trying to introduce this villains and show horn them into existing continuity. Right now, it feels like the producers are just throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks. This just sounds like a bad idea.
