When a film premieres to a $65 million opening weekend, it’s not shocking to find out a sequel is planned.

Paramount Pictures announced plans for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 with a June 3, 2016 release. Director Jonathan Liebesman and producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form spoke to Screenrant.com about things that they had to drop for the first film that may show up in the sequel.

Form: We’re just finishing the movie but we all wish that we could put everything into the movie. We all have other characters that we wish we could have had in this movie.

Liebesman: Casey Jones.

Form: Casey Jones. Bebop and Rocksteady. We had those conversations throughout development of this movie but we’re launching this movie now in two weeks. Hopefully everybody feels the same way we do [about it]. We love them [Bebop and Rocksteady].

I wasn’t the biggest fan of the new Turtles offering, but the prospects of Bebop and Rocksteady in a live action film peaks my interest.

Looks like this is actually happening.

Liongates Pictures has pinned July 22, 2016 as the release date for the upcoming reboot of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. As it is now, it will be going head to head with a new version of King Arthur directed by Guy Ritchie. No teenagers with attitude have been announced yet with only producer Roberto Orci and writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz attached.

What is interesting is that Orci spoke to IGN and a said that the new film would exist in the same continuity as the world that was set up in the show with cameos of past characters as a possibility. With Jason David Frank, former Green Ranger, expressing interest at returning, this is looking to be pretty promising as something for new and old fans.

Season five is coming! I mean, it will be coming when they get the cast together. Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos told USA Today that its only a matter of when, not if. The only thing standing in the way is getting the entire cast back together.

Now, we wait.

New Digimon Series Based on Original Cast Coming Early 2015

As a boy growing up in the ’90s, the battle lines were drawn. On one side you had fans of Nintendo’s Pokemon series, and on the other you had Bandai’s Digimon series. Me, I crossed lines. For as much love as I had for Pokemon, I was also a big fan of Digimon when it was originally played on Fox mornings.

With the 15th anniversary coming up, Toei animation has announced plans for a sequel to the original series. From the video, it looks like it will feature the high school adventures of the original kids and I assume dealing with high school problems. Not sure if there going to include the cast from season two but seriously, less Davis the better.

The release plans are for Spring 2015.
