Take Me Home Tonight: Adoptable Pets from Alaska Shelters

Every week we feature adoptable pets from across Alaska. To the best of our knowledge, each pet is still available, and we encourage you to follow the links to find out more about these animals and the shelters that are caring for them.

Alaska Dog & Puppy Rescue (Wasilla)

Sky is a happy, playful Chihuahua. She is vocal when there is a noise outside the door, and when she sees people on her walks outside. She does well in her crate when home alone and while riding in the car. She is learning to walk well on a leash and does enjoy investigating her surroundings.

Sky is waiting to make you happy! Learn more about her HERE.

Alaska Humane Society- Adopt-A-Cat (Anchorage)

Darla is a beautiful girl who really needs a home. She is very friendly and loves to be brushed and being with our volunteers. Please give this great kitty a home. You can start by learning more about Darla HERE.

Clear Creek Cat Rescue (Talkeetna)

Shianne is a very petite, gorgeous long-haired calico with a lovely personality to match. Shianne is about a year old and has had a bit of a difficult life, having been confined to a kennel for long periods of time with little attention. However, she has come a long way in learning how to be part of a family again and enjoys any attention that she can get!

Make sure Shianne gets all the attention she needs. Go HERE to learn how!

Homeward Bound Pet Rescue and Referral (Fairbanks)

Kohler is a 12 year old Chihuahua/Pom cross boy. He is timid initially but does warm up well. He seems to adore children, as long as they let him come to them. While I would not advise he be placed in a home with resident children, certainly properly behaved visitors would have a lot of fun with him. His life mate is Mitsy and they must be placed together. They are very closely bonded and will not do well separated.

Pet Rabbit Placement and Education (Anchorage)

Carrot is an adult male rabbit mix. He is bonded to Alien Baby and I would like to not split them up. He is a bit shy because he doesn’t get much attention, but I have had him in the house and he warmed up to me. I’m sure he will be a good pet.
