Take Me Home Tonight: Adoptable Pets from Alaska Shelters – All Dog Edition

Every week we feature adoptable pets from across Alaska. To the best of our knowledge, each pet is still available, and we encourage you to follow the links to find out more about these animals and the shelters that are caring for them.

This week, we came across so many special dogs in need of good homes we decided to dedicate the entire post to these one-of-a-kind pups.

Alaska Dog & Puppy Rescue (Wasilla)

Sky is a happy, playful Chihuahua.  She is getting used to going outside and also uses a potty pad so her housebreaking is coming along well. She is vocal when there is a noise outside the door, and when she sees people on her walks outside.  She is learning to walk well on a leash and does enjoy investigating her surroundings. She is ready for the transition to her permanent home and since she is still adjusting to her new life, she may do best in a home with older children that know how to be gentle with her.

If you are looking for a sweet pup to give your love and attention to, learn more about Sky HERE.

Alaska’s Extended Life Animal Sanctuary (Nikiski)

Muggs has had a hard life. He was found as a stray. His toe nails were grown into circles and he could barely walk. He loves all other animals. We are working on the house training. He now has all his shots and is ready for the start of his new life as a house pet!

Muggs needs a stable home. Find out more about bringing him a part of yours HERE.

Arctic German Shepard Rescue (Fairbanks)

New Boy (name coming soon)

2 yr old male, potty trained, does excellent in the truck for rides. Needs more training on a leash. He had an untreated hotspot which is now being taken care of. He does have allergies and will require a monthly shot to help him be less itchy. He is a very sweet boy! He will be neutered as soon as his hotspot is healed.

This sweet boy needs a name and a home. If you have both to share, learn more HERE.

Friends of Pets (Anchorage)

Galena is a spayed female beagle who found herself at Animal Control because her family could not take care of her health care needs. We have a soft spot for pets who are abandoned due to treatable health issues. She has good house manners, is respectful of cats and has been treated for her health issues. She will have some on-going dietary support needs that are easily provided.

Give Galena the lasting home she needs by learning all about here HERE.

Homer Animal Shelter

Harry and Tasha

Harry & Tasha come as a pair, but we will (grudgingly) adopt out separately. These 9 and 6 year-old Brussel Griffons are very sweet and very special lap dogs. Bright-eyed and happy, always eager to snuggle, just look at those little faces.

Do you have a lap big enough for two tiny pups? Learn more about this dynamic duo HERE!
