Every week we feature adoptable pets from across Alaska. To the best of our knowledge, each pet is still available, and we encourage you to follow the links to find out more about these animals and the shelters that are caring for them.

Alaska Bird Club (Anchorage)

Fred Alaska
Fred

Fred is a 20+ year-old Albino dove. He used to have a mate, Ethel, until she died awhile back. He is very sweet, quiet and coos beautifully. He will sit quietly for hours. He likes very short flights once in awhile, but can’t go far due to age. He enjoys listening to my other birds, but doesn’t talk with them.

Awwwwwww, what a sweet little dove. Learn more about this lovey dovey HERE.

Gastineau Humane Society (Juneau)

TwoPaw
TwoPaw

Like the lion in the Wizard of Oz  TwoPaw came to us timid and afraid of everything. One by one our staff has worked to up his confidence. TwoPaw likes to warm up when meeting new people. Once he gets comfortable, well he is a delight. He likes squeaky toys, small balls, and treats.

TwoPaw is too cute. Make him part of your happy home by learning more HERE.

Homer Animal Shelter

Donatello

Donny loves his life of leisure here at the shelter. Soft music in the background, a warm bed, a few good friends. Ahhh, mealtime again? Why thank you, yes I’ll have the salmon. A two year old, silver/gray, long-haired tabby, Donny is pretty mellow, and would do well in most homes.

This easy breezy cat is looking for a forever family. Open that can of salmon and go HERE for more info!

Kool Kat Rescue (Anchorage)

Bugs
Bugs

She is happy and ready to go into a lifetime home that will take the time to brush her long locks so she never has a bad hair day again. Bugs is very loveable, social girl and does okay with other cats. Would probably do well with older kids who know when it’s time to let Bugs alone when she wants.

Bugs needs some extra special love and care. Make her your by going HERE.

Polar Pug Rescue & Friends (Anchorage)

Charlotte

This quirky little girl needs a special home. She came from a cruel situation in January of 2012. Char is terrified of men! We have tried several times to place her in homes of different types but they have been unsuccessful. Always due to men in the home. We are looking for a special home for her, maybe a retired loving woman that wants to share her home with a sweet but skittish little girl.
