Take Me Home Tonight: Adoptable Pets from Alaska Shelters

Every week we feature adoptable pets from across Alaska. To the best of our knowledge, each pet is still available, and we encourage you to follow the links to find out more about these animals and the shelters that are caring for them.

Alaska Bird Club (Anchorage)

Sherbert will need someone who is home a lot of the day and is willing to work with him on getting him used to attention like he used to be. He used to enjoy an occasional head scritch but lately he is not fond of being scritched/petted. He is a wonderful bird and would benefit greatly with one on one attention several times a day.

Sherbert has many special issues so make sure to learn more about him HERE.

Alaska Dog and Puppy Rescue (Wasilla)

Abby is a wonderful girl. She does great with kids, dogs and cats. She has a lot of energy and needs an active family. She is house trained and is an over all sweetheart.

She sounds like the perfect dog! Hurry, learn more HERE right now before she is gone!

Clear Creek Cat Rescue (Wasilla)

Sweet Stickers is a leggy and handsome gold and cream boy who came to us declawed. He is probably about 10 years old with a lot of great cuddle time ahead, and maybe even a little romping around.

Stickers is ready for a loving companion to share his golden years with. Learn more HERE!

Mojo’s Hope (Anchorage)

He is a very loving, playful and engaging kitty boy. He has a calm nature about him and enjoys the company of people! In his foster home he has been around other cats (he likes to be king) and large dogs. He has such a mellow attitude and is so good natured! Tex is ready and raring to find his loving furvever home.

Tex has allergies that require daily medications so please make sure to learn all about him HERE.

Second Chance League Sled Dog Rescue (Fairbanks)

Ethan (Siku)

Ethan (now Siku) is a 9 year old distance sled dog that finished many races including the Kobuk 440. His former owner became very concerned for him when Ethan (now Siku) starting having seizures in extremely cold weather. So he ended up at the Fairbanks Animal Shelter. He got a full workup at a vet and his bloodwork is great.

This dog has had an interesting life and could use a good companion. Learn more about him HERE.
