Every week we feature adoptable pets from across Alaska. To the best of our knowledge, each pet is still available, and we encourage you to follow the links to find out more about these animals and the shelters that are caring for them.

With the legislative session in full swing we decided to take advantage of all the people flying in and out of Juneau to highlight a few of the many animals in need of rescue in our great State Capital.  Make sure to bring an empty animal carrier on your next flight down!

Sgt. Mustache
Sgt. Mustache

Sergeant is a newly retired tom cat, still getting used to living indoors surrounded by people.
He can be a little crabby but cheek/head/chin scratches make him content.
He loves a bit of love but will tell you when he wants his solitary time.
He’s not the cuddly type- let him come to you and don’t try to pick him up for a cuddle.

Rowdy
Rowdy

Rowdy is pretty awesome as far as Chinchillas go. This handsome 8 month old male Chinchilla is looking for a home well versed in Chinchilla-ism (the art of being a chinchilla owner.) After some nice and calm socializing and hes sure you are a great person his personality will blossom into a very friendly boy.

Teeboo
Teeboo

7 year- 8 month old female domestic short hair-Tori cat. She’s very aware of her surroundings and sensitive to quick movements or loud noises. This girl is one of the sweetest kitties you will ever meet. She loves to be loved once all is said and done. Grab a brush and let her tell you some stories. Teeboo would be a great addition to a calm household.

Emma
Emma

2 year old Rex Rabbit. Emma is a beautiful young bunny with a velvety fur coat. She is a mellow soul who may need a few minutes to warm up, but if you offer her some celery or an apple slice it may save you some time. She is a pretty active bunny and would benefit from regular socialization and busy toys. Safe and proper bunny handling is exceedingly important to know with all bunnies and Emma is no exception. Ask kennel staff for some tips before visiting! She would be thankful to have a home without young children.

Willow
Willow

Willow is 8 years old. Willow loves to be brushed. Good thing too as long haired cats need regular brushing to prevent tangles. Willow really enjoys lounging around on her back with all four paws in the air. Don’t let this solid feline kid you she has a playful side too. Willow is not big on being held she prefers laying next to you (as if the contact is all her idea).
