Last weekend, Portland-based country rock band Quiet Life returned to Alaska for its third tour. Shows included Anchorage, Denali and three outings in Fairbanks. I took the opportunity to photograph them on their last night at a local house show.
Quiet Life and their tour opener, Hip Hatchet, impressed the crowd with their catchy lyrical hooks and foot stomping dance riffs. Locals hoot and hollered as they kept the band going even when they thought they were done. Chants of “One more song!!” repeatedly from the crowd came even though lead singer Sean Spellman tried to convince them that “We don’t have any more songs!”
