Every week, I’m going to feature adoptable pets and events surrounding pet adoption from across Alaska. To the best of my knowledge, each of these pets are still available, and I encourage you to follow the links to find out more about these animals and the shelters that are caring for them.
Alaska ASPCA (Anchorage)

Bandit
Bandit

Bandit is a happy, two and a half year old male husky. He is kennel trained and loves the outdoors. He would be a great ski jourer or hiking companion. He is very affectionate and loves to please. He knows basic commands. He can be shy particularly with men. If forced to do something he doesn’t want to do, he becomes fearful and has been known to bite. Therefore, Bandit needs a compassionate home where he can be gently led and coached and not forced. Click here to find out how to bring Bandit home for outdoor adventures.
Alaska Dog and Puppy Rescue
Katrina
Katrina

This is Katrina. She is around 4 years old. She is a pit bull / heeler mix. We rescued her from animal control two days before she had puppies. Her puppies were the cutest and have all been adopted. Katrina is spayed, current on her shots and has a microchip. She is the sweetest girl. She loves people, loves to play and is great with other dogs. She does have heeler in her so she tends to “herd” which isn’t a good thing with small kids who tend to run! She is house broken and very lovable. If you would like to meet Katrina, click here or please call Debbie at 244-4582 (Katrina is in the valley).

Charmin
Charmin

Charmin is an affectionate, fun-loving boxer gal in need of a home to lounge in retirement bliss. She enjoys a good walk & tug-of-war but she’s happy to spend most of her time napping on the couch. Charmin LOVES squeaky toys and most of all, lots of affection. She does great with other dogs so long as they are respectful of her space & not too rambunctious. Charmin is potty trained but she does need to be in a home where she can go outside to do her business often. Click here to find out how to bring Charmin home.
Haines Animal Rescue Kennel
Bean
Bean

This is Bean. He is a quiet, sweet easy guy to get along with. He’s also very striking with ear tufts similar to a wild cat! Click here to find out how to bring Bean home.
Pet Pride (Fairbanks)
Freddie
Freddie

Freddie is a HUGE main coon. He gets along great with other cats but wants to be the only cat in the house. He was given up because of allergies. He is very mellow and just hangs out. He does need to go on a diet. We are looking for a loving home that can give this big boy a wonderful home and help slim him down. Main coons are amazing cats and have wonderful loving personalities. Click here to find out how to get better acquainted with Freddie’s amazing personality.
