Every week, I’m going to feature adoptable pets and events surrounding pet adoption from across Alaska. To the best of my knowledge, each of these pets are still available, and I encourage you to follow the links to find out more about these animals and the shelters that are caring for them.
Anchorage Animal Care & Control Center

Amelia
Amelia

Please meet Amelia, an adult, spayed female, pit bull mix. This happy young girl is alert, bright, very friendly and playful. She’s good-natured, loves being and interacting with people, and has a sweet, gentle personality. Wants to please, handles fine on leash, knows to sit nicely for a treat and take it gently. Loves laps and gives kisses! Click HERE to go directly to their Petfinder pages.
Alaska SPCA
Baby
Baby

Baby is a gorgeous short hair calico that came to the AK SPCA through animal control. She is so sweet and shy. She loves to lay around and is a very calm cat. She is very quiet. She is very shy at first, but once she warms up to you she will talk a little bit. She loves to be petted and have her ears scratched. She is waiting patiently at the AK SCPA for her furr-ever home. Come meet this sweet girl and fall in love today! Click HERE to go directly to their Petfinder pages.
Homer Animal Shelter
Wendy
Wendy

This is Wendy. “This beautiful little girl is a bit shy–being new at the Shelter–but has a playful streak that can’t be denied.” Click HERE to go directly to this pet’s Petfinder page.
Seward Animal Shelter
Bruce
Bruce

Bruce can be a playful buddy! He gets along with everyone and would love to join your family. He loves to climb, so a kitty tree or a nice spot on a window sill would be great for him! He is a very energetic and curious boy. Come scoop him up today at the Seward Animal Shelter! Click HERE to go directly to this pet’s Petfinder page.
Soldotna Animal Shelter
Lightning
Lightning

This is Lightning. He is an almost 2 year old neutered male Jack Russell Terrier. Although a sweet heart, he is independent as most JRT’s are. He needs some basic obedience training, which should be a snap to learn for this smart little guy. Contact us here at the shelter if you would be interested in providing him with a forever home. Click HERE to go directly to this pet’s Petfinder page.
Do you work at a shelter and want to get the word out about an adoptable pet or adoption clinic? Send an email to info (at) alaskacommons (dot) com. I’ll read it, I promise.
