Take Me Home Tonight: Adoptable Pets from Alaska Shelters

Every week, I’m going to feature adoptable pets and events surrounding pet adoption from across Alaska. To the best of my knowledge, each of these pets are still available, and I encourage you to follow the links to find out more about these animals and the shelters that are caring for them.
Anchorage Animal Care and Control Center
Bella Anchorage Animal Care and Control Center
This beautiful young girl is just 15 months old. She’s friendly and affectionate, intelligent, and wants to please. She can be shy around men, but is very responsive to calm, gentle handling. Does well in shelter dog training class and is a fast learner–a happy fetch player too. Sits nicely for treats and takes gently. She will be too rambunctious for kids under 16, and should go to a dog experienced family that can provide lots of exercise, training and things to do. Lots of potential with this sweet pup! Just $72 to adopt. Click HERE to go directly to this pet’s Petfinder page.
Haines Animal Rescue Kennel
Hamlet Haines Animal Rescue Kennel
This is Hamlet. “He’s a really nice guy….handsome too!” Click HERE to go directly to this pet’s Petfinder page.
Peninsula Unwanted Pets Society
Rocky Road Peninsula Unwanted Pets Society
“Rocky Road came to us after he had an embedded harness removed, he is understandable frightened in new situations and is just starting to understand not everyone is out to harm him. He is learning to trust again, and is learning to be a puppy again. Rocky needs a very understanding family that will let him adjust at his own pace. A cuddle bug waiting to happen, Rocky has the potential to thrive given the time and attention.” Click HERE to go directly to this pet’s Petfinder page.
Do you know of an animal shelter that should be featured here? Do you work at a shelter and want to get the word out about an adoptable pet or adoption clinic? Send an email to info (at) alaskacommons (dot) com. I’ll read it, I promise.
