Every week, I’m going to feature adoptable pets and events surrounding pet adoption from across Alaska. To the best of my knowledge, each of these pets are still available, and I encourage you to follow the links to find out more about these animals and the shelters that are caring for them.
Anchorage Animal Care and Control Center
MIGHTY MOUSE Anchorage Animal Care and Control
This is Mighty Mouse! “Friendly, loving and bright, this young fellow was found as a stray. He’s attentive and intelligent, wants to please, and would enjoy training classes. Happy and affectionate–he’ll climb into your lap for petting and attention. Really enjoys people–a certified love sponge! Weighs 43 pounds, just $72 to adopt.” Click HERE to go directly to this pet’s Petfinder page.
Clear Creek Cat Rescue – CCCR (Talkeetna)
Boo Clear Creek Cat Rescue (CCCR)
“Boo–oh my, what an absolute love! This amazing boy is a fluffball Maine Coon mix fellow with a terrific chocolate ruff. He has a wonderful coat and the cutest face ever. This is THE sweetest cat in the universe. Give him love and he will be so happy and purr and cuddle and nestle up against you. He likes hugs and kisses and lots of love from his family. He will be absolutely the best sweetheart boy for a loving family that wants a devoted and ever lovin’ cat to share their home and hearts. He is somewhere between 3 and 6. He gets along well with other cats and would enjoy a cat friend as a companion.” Click HERE to go directly to this pet’s Petfinder page.

JESSE Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Control
This is Jesse. There aren’t many details posted about this cute little pup, but she is a young, Pit Bull Terrier Mix. Click HERE to go directly to this pet’s Petfinder page.
Gastineau Humane Society (Juneau)
Bowser Gastineau Humane Society
“Bowser has a lot of great things going for him but he’s also had a tough time of it from the start due to problems from poor breeding. Bowser has Bilateral luxating patellas in both knees (this is when the kneecaps slip out of joint). He will need surgery on both knees. This surgery has been quoted at $1800-$2100 per knee. His personality & looks are nothing short of irresistible. He is housetrained, knows most of his basic commands & is very trainable. Bowser is incredibly human orientated & will follow his person wherever they go. He does great with other dogs but is still working on sharing treats & human affection with them (he tends towards jealousy in these situations but he has been improving vastly with training). Overall Bowser is a laid back, affectionate guy looking for a cozy home & loving companions. Bowers is 11 months old.” Click HERE to go directly to this pet’s Petfinder page.
Ketchikan Gateway Borough Animal Shelter
NINJA Ketchikan Gateway Borough Animal Shelter
This is Ninja. (All cats and dogs adopted through the Ketchikan Gateway Borough Animal Shelter are altered (spayed/neutered) prior to going home with their new families. We have special arrangements with the local veterinarian, allowing us to adopt animals at a cost lower than the regular cost of alteration. All adopted animals that require alteration are taken to the vet on Wednesday afternoon. Animals are available for the new owners to pick up at the shelter on Saturday morning.) Click HERE to go directly to this pet’s Petfinder page.
