Anchorage Science Pub: It's a Beach to Clean [Video]

This past Sunday was the twelfth meeting of the Anchorage Science Pub, which meets every second Sunday at the Tap Root from 4-6pm.
Presenting was Chris Pallister, President of Gulf of Alaska Keeper.
Pallister gave an update on the group’s efforts to remove debris from Alaska’s hard to reach coastline. Gulf of Alaska Keeper has already removed close to one million pounds of plastics from our beaches, overwhelmingly without the benefits that come with road access.
That number is already trending sharply upwards given the waves of debris caused by the Japanese tsunami.
Pallister offered the audience in Spenard a phenomenally interesting, albeit sobering, assessment of the the ongoing efforts to keep our beaches clean and save the lives of the animals on and offshore that are otherwise the victims.
